There will come a time, when Conservatives need to rally behind a specific candidate, who is going to need support from the previous supporters of other candidates. Any one with common sense should have no problem understanding that, and keeping it ever in mind.
It is also obvious, that nothing we have said here, inhibits anyone from enthusiastically addressing any or every issue of policy.
yes, that’s pretty funny.
And FTR, I support Trump over any Democrat and most Republicans...but I cannot support some of the arguments used to defend him against the indefensible.
Can you agree with me that the debate tonight should have only about 5 people on the stage?
Kasich shouldn’t be there at all. That’s a joke.
I’d say the 4 leaders: Trump, Cruz, Carson, and Rubio. Maybe one or two others: Bush and Christie/Fiorina.
The others should be in the earlier debate.
That said, I don’t consider these debates, don’t care much for the format, and would love to hear the mods say: “We’re going to have only one question tonight”. Each of you will receive 15 minutes to respond to it.
And then the question. I’d prefer economy or national security.
That would separate the men from the boys.
I would say 6 or 7 - but no more.
I saw that they had again packed the big stage, and to be honest, I knew it favored Trump. They have to spread out the conversation, so each of them gets less time to talk. He talks more in sound bites, so I think it favors him.
Cruz would benefit from being given the time to reason with people. I suspect a debate champion doesn’t win on the basis of 30 second responses.
I probably agree with most of that...altho Cruz did extremely well in the last go round. And I think tonight will feature Trump and Cruz.....but we’ll see...lotta folks want to jump in.
I was a beneficiary of the G.I. Bill of WWII having served in the Pacific. I came away with a science/engineering degree from the most renowned public university in the world. I saw during those years many young men who should have taken advantage of the opportunities available. I also saw quite a few ex G.I.s who used the Bill just to have something to do. The G.I. Bill had it’s god and it’s bad tendencies.
A very good article was posted today. My #8 further discusses my beliefs about this presidential election.
What Is a Conservative? What Defines the GOP?
I think all the issues you and others (including Rush and Levin) mention pale in comparison to what is discussed in the linked thread and I discuss my view in #8.
There won't be any reason to worry about Kelo and ethanol and other issues of similar importance if we have decades of Democrat presidents and federal courts.
I’m G I BILL educated too. Didn’t hurt me. My family could never have afforded it.
