What makes you think Trump intends to carry out even an iota of the garbage he spews? You measure a man by what he does and says when he doesn’t have something to sell, you don’t measure him by what he claims when he does have something to sell. By that measure Trump is a Rockefeller Republican and all his guff about borders is nothing more than sweet nothings being “whispered” into the ears of people who are desperate.

I concede that I probably wouldn’t like Trump as a person. We don’t run in the same circles.

I don’t like any number of his prior positions and some of his present.

But he gets in there and fights. He has his own $$$. And he has grandchildren. It’s the grandchildren part that gives me good feeling. It’s the ‘his own’ $$$ that garners my willingness to look at his power. It’s his willingness to fight that has my respect.

I think DC will have to be sunk, together with all the people who work there, and that we’ll have to start over. There’s no way to save this. None. I want someone who’s already done it over and over. Having become a street fighter on paper, I’ll get in the dirt now, too. Purity be hanged. I want a winner.

As I posted on another thread: I do feel that some important people have stumbled across it though, because a few months after I wrote it, I started to notice that the dialogue started to change. People even started embracing my term for them -- Elitists.

I don't know if I dare believe it, but there is a chance I have made a tiny bit of difference by writing that essay.
