I’m Hispanic. I know of NO non-Republican brown folk who are going to support, let alone vote for him. Including most of my Independent relatives who are scattered across the West and Midwest.

Surprised to hear that as I regularly talk politics in person with people I know and people I don’t, and mostly they are Mexican Americans and African Americans. All of the Blacks and most of the Mexicans are thrilled at what Trump is saying and excited that he could become president.

They are fighting to survive in this economy. They have been hurt the worst and they see how Trump can help them. They are sick of the divisions and want us to unite as Americans... Us against the world, not us against each other.

Of course, all I’m doing is trading anecdotes with you.

I was just thinking that having a Hispanic on the big ticket for the first time ever would be a draw to people who are basically apolitical. For diehard Democrats, it’s not going to make a difference, just like Obama wasn’t a draw for diehard Republicans. There are a lot of people who are swayed by what you or I might consider trivial matters, like one’s race of ethnicity.
