Islam is not what most civilized people call a religion, because they expect a religion to have some kind of benevolent impulse at or near the center of it.
But I most respectfully would demur on a technicality here: Islam is a religion... BUT, like Jim Jones Kool-Aid is a drink. A religion is a system of belief around a deity or around something that takes a role parallel to that of deity. Therefore it needn’t be good in order to be that. This is what makes Islam possible for it to have adherents. Its Allah fills (in a toxic way) the role that God would play in Judaism or Christianity.
While all kinds of laudatory words are made towards Allah in Islam, when you look at what this deity actually asks his adherents to DO, you get quite another picture.
satan is receiving worship from Muslims, that is what he wants to be worshiped. When we remember this, the violence and sheer evil we see happening from daesh and others makes a lot of sense why, they are like their father the devil.
Good points to clarify.
