I watched David Brooks and Mark Shields last night doing their punditry on PBS. I was struck by Brooks’ ability to correctly explain why Trump has a loyal following. It’s not hatred. It’s concern that we don’t effectively vet incoming immigrants. Also, it’s being fed up with political correctness and appreciating someone who fearlessly speaks his mind. As with all media, they misquoted Trump’s comments about “refugees,” although Gwen Ifill, at least, played Trump’s full quote.
Shields speaks of Cruz’s intelligence. No childish ad hominem attacks. As with most liberals on the air, he’s deeply concerned that our nominee won’t do well in the general election /s. (Mark, your meme is showing).
Funny, though, that a week ago there was shock that Trump supporters were more intelligent than expected. This week, they’re LIV’s.
I’m giving to Cruz, too. He has all the right enemies.
The media fears Cruz because they know he’s the real deal and could set back the leftist agenda 16 years like RR.
