The immense power this bunch of the populace has managed to accrue, both earned and unearned, makes me glad that the end of my time here on earth is just arund the bend, relatively speaking...

They are a lockstep army of brainwashed fools, marching towards their own destruction and utterly incapable of seeing it. They are conscienceless, they lust after cruelty while checking out new shoes. They are orcs.

If the party gives us the finger... we’ll ALL leave - not just Trump.

There was a PPP, I think a couple of months ago. I have not looked at the RCP average of Clinton V. Trump, but the latest CBS/NYTimes (hardly a “conservative” poll-—and the most recent) has Trump up 5.

The any member of the elite, a Trump victory in November just appears inconceivable.

The same-old, same-old “he can’t win” BULL CRAP from the establishment

I like positive thinking, she probably thought BO could not win either.

Run a uniparty candidate against Hillary and you will lose like McStupidp and Romney lost. Run a conservative and you will have a billionaire hissy fit, temper tantrum and meltdown on your hands. The GOP should never have fed the beast. The party is just about over if it continues being liberal. Americans are not liberals.

“when you evoke in a positive way Japanese internment camps during World War II, not seeming to know that that is an American embarrassment and shame”

Nobody knows what would have happened here if we had NOT done that!

This was the young peggy and she still thinks she looks this way. She was a decent looking woman, and was semi-conservative, both are now long gone.

The point is that there are better anti-establishment options. And while his attention-grabbing helps him in the primary election polls, it also takes attention away from the failings and stupidity of Obama and Hillary, which failings and stupidity alone will allow us to win the general election.

re: If the GOP pulls something crazy during the nominating convention and doesn't give it to Trump, they're going to lose in a landslide to a split ticket.

Here's the differences between the Democrat Party, Conservative Republicans, and the Republican establishment: A loss for Democrats is a terrible thing. For conservative Republicans, a loss is a terrible thing. But for the Republican establishment, a loss is not really a terrible thing at all. It maintains the status quo, which is Democrats being in power and Republican "moderates" supporting the democrat agenda while wimping out on everything they campaigned and raised money to fight against. That is why the GOP establishment would rather Hillary win than have Trump, Cruz, or Carson. A Democrat win is still a win for the GOPe.

It is amazing to watch “The Five” implode over Trump.

Perino is so full of vitriol for Trump that she has a meter in her head over how many times his image can be invoked in one show. Gutfeld is her lapdog as usual. Worse on this subject.

No plans for what they’ll do if he gets in for four or eight years.

Her loyalty to the Bushes is clouding her judgment.

How can a Trump presidency be bad for the country? That’s what these people will not articulate.

And Noonan’s statement, here, doesn’t even make logical sense. The Republican Party can’t win with him, but they can’t win without his supporters? It’s not even balanced.

Here’s what she says: Trump says “I could go third-party. I think we should all just remember that. It is, in its way, a form of blackmail. It’s treat me well no matter what I do, or I’ll buck against you guys and you’re not going to like it.”

Hello.

Where has she been?

Let’s try this:

The Republicans, after they get into office say to their voters, but not out loud like honest people, “treat me well no matter what I do, or I’ll buck against you guys and you’re not going to like it.”

“One is that they cannot win the presidency with Donald Trump.”

Noonan didn’t give their reasons why. He might not win. Hillary might not win. Big deal.

Trump hasn’t finished telling his story. Those flapping their mouths opposing him had better consider the possibility that he’ll become President and they will end up in the trash heap.

Trump and all the rest keep track of his supporters and detractors.

On another subject, I’m disappointed that Netanyahu didn’t give a reason for his disagreement with Trump.

My mother told me this story: When she was a teenager, at a high school in the same city, young Japanese man was valedictorian. His speech was about his great love of America and gratitude for what America had given to him and to his family. A year or so later, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbar and then declared war on America. Within a few weeks of that time, that young man was in uniform and fighting for his country that he truly loved — JAPAN!!!!

While my mother felt that the Japanese internment camps were wrong, she also said there was good reason they were created. And she also thought that perhaps it was for the best.

You said...

They would say the same about Reagan today. Or Washington for that matter.

They did say the same thing about Reagan. In fact, I remember reading at the time the Carter folks considered Reagan the easiest to beat. In fact, there was an article at the time written how the Carter re election team breathed a sigh of relief when Reagan got the nomination.
Even many in the GOP at that time insisted that a Reagan nomination would result in Carter being re elected. Nothing changes
