Donald Trump's call on Monday for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" is unlikely to blow up his campaign. No matter how outrageous his statement seems to most Americans, his supporters apparently eat up stuff like that.
Forty-six percent of Mr. Trump's backers say that their minds are made up and won't change before the primaries, according to a Dec. 2 Quinnipiac poll. Only 33% of Ted Cruz's supporters, and 23% of Marco Rubio's, say that they are sure of their choice.
Apparently no matter what Mr. Trump does, he continues to poll generally in the mid- to high-20s, with an occasional survey putting him in the 30s. In mid-August he dipped to 22% in the Real Clear Politics average, but he hasn't fallen below that mark since. This high floor, however, is matched by a low ceiling.
His antics-calling his GOP competitors "losers" and "clowns," insulting Sen. John McCain for having been captured in Vietnam, mocking a reporter with a disability, crudely attacking Fox News's Megyn Kelly-have made it difficult for him to grow his base.

Tokyo KR is the ‘Rats’ dream GOPee strategerist.
Hey, Porky Pig Face STFU and go away!
You know if he was the dream now and you’re not after the election. But we certainly no in hindsight than McCain and Romney we’re both the dream nominees for the Democrats
Trump is going to be the DNC's and progressive's worst nightmare.
But, regarding the proposal by Trump to temporarily halt all Islamic entry into the United States, there is a lot of hype, misinformation, ignorance, and out and out lies being circulated in an attempt to slam Trump.
So, what is the truth of the matter? Is Trump's proposal illegal? Is his proposal un-Constitutional? Is his proposal un-American?
In an effort to inform American citizens of the facts and help answer these questions, please read the following.
Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
This is in the U.S. Code of Laws. It was passed by Congress in 1952 and has been the law of the land ever since. And, by the way, at the time it was passed by a Democratic Congress.
So, to be clear, if the President determines that murders/killers/enemies are infiltrating any group of people to do harm to America, he has been given the power by Congress to stop or restrict that groups immigration or non-immigration status and ability to come into the country by proclamation. This is precisely what Trump has proposedâ¦and for obvious reasons.
It is NOT un-American, it is U.S. Law.
It is NOT un-Constitutional, Article 6 Paragraph 3 of the U.S. Constitution regarding no religious test refers specifically and only to the election of Congress...not to immigration.
As President, Donald Trump would have full legal authority under U.S. Law to do exactly what he has proposed.
All of the hype, outrage, and statements to the contrary are either political grandstanding, abject ignorance of the law, or willful lies regarding the issue.
Yeah, let’s nominate another amnesty pimp or Obamacare wannabee. That will win over the disaffected.
Let me guess—tonight he will be on O’Really with his whiteboard.
what a maroon!
Among all voters, 46% favor a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, while 40% are opposed. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.
Where is Tokyo’s analysis of Yheb!’s victory in the general?
CT was talking about the GOPe next strategy was to keep pushing the idea that Trump can’t beat the hag.
He will beat her like a rented mule. That acares thme more than anything.
If it is Trump, all that is left for her is the cheating.
The establishment pols and their media lapdogs are p*ssing their pants over Trump, an outsider who may very well unseat them all.
Gawd, I had a nightmare that Karl Rove and Lindsey Graham got married with Chief Justice Roberts presiding over the ceremony.
As Truman put it so well to a music critic who gave a bad review to his daughter, “Some day I hope to meet you (Mr. Rove). When that happens you’ll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below!”
If he is, then why are they spending so much time trying to get rid of him?
