North Korea claims to have developed a new kind of nuclear weapon to add to its arsenal – the hydrogen bomb. It is still unclear whether the latest claim of Kim Jong-un is a gimmick or a real threat.

Pyongyang is capable of launching hydrogen bombs and not just nuclear weapons, declared the country's leader, Kim Jong-un. According to the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), he was speaking at Phyongchon Revolutionary Site, a historic venue for the regime, in the North Korean capital.

That’s two dozen in all. Stick 12 in his mouth, 12 in his ass and switch ‘em every two nanoseconds. It’s a can’t-miss strategy!

My concern revolves around their reported cooperation with Iran. You may recall the recent prosecution of the former CIA employee who disclosed Operation Merlin to NYT journalist James Risen.

The Iranians supposedly obtained blueprints for a compact warhead when a former Soviet nuclear scientist deviated from the original plan. They already have ballistic missiles. Now, the only missing piece is the material. It will be a disastrous if they figure out a way to assist the Norks with the plutonium separation.

No doubt any cooperation would take place in NK. Iran could open their domestic facilities to inspection and claim they're abiding by the agreement they made with the current admin.
