Are those areas ruled by Sharia law? Just wondering.

Sharia Law would apply when convenient and plausible.
The Saudis apply it when necessary.

I asked all 30 Saudi men I worked with if they had multiple wives. To the one they answered: "One wife is enough."

Interest on loans, etc., is "usury" and forbidden. HOWEVER, the banks that loan simply charge a "FEE" for services.

The Saudis forbid Christian men of the cloth. SO, when priests, vicars and ministers come into the country to live and work the King and government simply call them "special teachers," NOT priests, ministers and vicars. I know that because I started going to DAILY Mass over there in Ras Tanura, 9:00 A.M., daily, WITH my Muslim boss's blessing.
HE said that "God is number one. There always time for God" and that I could "go to pray" whenever I wanted to.
The kill-joy stinker in all of this was my Catholic Indian co-worker. He was a pain in the butt...and all agreed on that.
