Remember this lie?

Or maybe this one?

You lie all the time. But you claim you never lie. No surprise, I expect nothing from liars but lies.

You use the word ‘craves’ as though using it to advance a cause you believe in is an evil thing.

There’s a reason Trump is getting all the credit for raising the Muslim issue.

That reason is, he’s Trump. Paul and Cruz were the first to raise the issue with legislation for a 3 year moratorium on immigrants from countries with an ISIS or Al Queda presence. They framed the issue on terrorism rather than religion before Trump called for a ban on Muslims.

I think you’re right, and Cruz is very unpopular personally. But I don’t think that is a bad thing at all.

Cruz is not an outsider, as in he does not belong there, he is a pariah, someone who should belong but has been rejected.

Cruz was in DC as early as 1995 as a law clerk for the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the next year as a law clerk for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He then went into a DC based law firm. While there, he helped prepare testimony for Clinton’s impeachment hearing and was the counsel for John Boehner (yes, the future Speaker of the House) in one of his lawsuits.

He worked for the Bush campaign in 2000 and was a key player in the Gore vs. Bush case.

So he was more than familiar with the workings of Washington and the players. He could have parlayed his position and experience into favors and patronage. But he didn’t.

Instead, he has used his position to challenge what he sees as the collapse of the Constitutional system of government. When he talks about the Washington Cartel, he really means it. And his fellow Senators, Congressmen and Federal Office holders don’t like the fact that he views them as part of a vast criminal conspiracy to subvert the Constitution.

They don’t like it one little bit.

Yes, I think that’s fair. I think he has the highest integrity, and is largely wasted as a senator in this particular “Star Wars Cantina Scene” of a senate.

Don’t be too hard on Cruz. He should win Iowa. NH is not Cruz country AT ALL, and he must know it - I haven’t seen hide nor hair of him.

We will have to put up with a week of “Trump is finished” after Iowa, and then he will blow the doors off here in NH. I believe Trump will win SC as well, and by the time he wins Florida it will either be all over OR the cheating to stop him will become intolerable and he will go New Second Party.

It’s not just that Cruz would hurt a Trump-led ticket (he would, big time).

It’s that his skills (intellectualism, constitutional fidelity, mastery of rhetoric) make him ideally suited to the Supreme Court, hopefully to replace Ginsburg and to sit there for 40 years.

He’s not a natural political talent like Reagan or Trump, and he’s poison (fairly or unfairly) to working-class whites (a/k/a “Reagan Democrats”). The eventual winner in 2016 will need 8-12 million people who voted for Obama, twice, and Cruz is not that guy.

Not convinced yet. I want to see PPP. If that one has Cruz up . . in Jan, then yeah, Cruz will win IA. But if PPP has Trump up, and especially if it has Trump up in Jan., then it’s over.

I don’t think we ought to let deep blue states pick our champion, but then I am a christian constitutional conservative

OK, Mr. christian constitutional conservative, tell us this: If you could choose the GOP nominee, who would you choose?

And then tell us, how many states that Romney lost could your guy win, and why?

You live in a country where a majority of voters would gladly kill you and think they were doing a service to (their) God, just like the Boss told you they would.

How on Earth do you expect to elect a christian constitutional conservative.

Spot on, Jim. Spot on.

However, unless Cruz has eyes now for the Supreme Court, to me he seems too active and politically energetic, or maybe politically ambitious, for the Supreme Court at his age.

I could be completely wrong on that assessment, too, and I do agree Cruz would be elegant on the SC. He could have it, under a Trump appointment, I believe, if he is interested.

Maybe he is interested. He likes his family life and apparently D.C., so it could be a good choice for him. You may be exactly right.

Well I appreciate that point.

It is spot on to say that NOTHING is the goal of the senate, and in a McConnell senate no less. I am painfully sorry for the Mike Lee’s and Cruz & Co., to be stuck in a majority Republican senate and be in the crapper just as deep as if REID were still running it.

McConnell has the spine of cotton candy.

But if Cruz were going to introduce something that will go no where fast, then why not over shoot the moon and introduce something with substance that isn’t the butt of jokes in its substance? I don’t quite get that part of it.

THANK you for the polling data. We need to scramble up in South Carolina and hold that lead.

The anti-TRUMP forces and his opponents are going to try to move in fast during these waves of assault against TRUMP, and we are in a big wave now.

In these early states, the second tier is in a fight for delegates and delegate bargaining chips.

May they knock one another out.

How on Earth do you expect to elect a christian constitutional conservative.

Certainly not by giving up!

Conservatives loose when they pick the guy they think others will like giving the guy they like the shaft. ENOUGH! Enough of the pessimism of we can't win we must run a centrist. When we run to the middle we lose, and even if the centrist is elected we still loose.

You ask how will a christian constitutional conservative get elected; simple by getting votes from Christians, constitutionalists and conservatives who did not despair and would not give up. I am not persuaded to vote for a formerly liberal television personality, I have not given up yet on God and county.

As usual, Trump went to the very heart of the issue.
