That's an absurd nomination. I had this crazy nightmare thought: That would be like nominating Obama for some sort of Peace Prize or something because he was not GW Bush or even more insane, Yassir Arfart, or and this is hard to imagine, Nelson Mandela or Bishop Desmond Tutu or even this insane proposal, Muhammad Baredei former head of the IAEA. Come on, some one is pulling my leg. Next thing you know Jesse “scumbag” Jackson will be nominated for high office. Merkel?? The destroyer of European civilization? It just can't be... Oh wait! These events have transpired in the past! I thought I was dreaming...
Most of the people of the year are bad...so no surprise...
A hardline proponent of browning of Germany and all of Europe - who would have thought that this former East German Communist Stasi agent would rise to the position she has and also be Time’s Person of the Year.

Time’s Person Of The Year is really not an endorsement nor a negative - people think it means the “best person of the year” award - it just means the most newsworthy. Of course Time will praise Merkel to high heaven - but that is besides the point. Also, as an FYI - the Nobel Peace Prize if done right is not awarded to angels of our better nature alone - it can be awarded to the most vile warlord if the warlord chooses to accept a peace treaty, ends a war, etc.
