A Syrian rebel group has released a fake execution video in which it spares the lives of nine captured ISIS fighters.
The fanatics in orange jumpsuits are paraded to a desert location by their masked captors and forced to kneel.
Mimicking the actions of ISIS fanatics, who have murdered hundreds on camera, the rebel fighters aim their handguns at their heads, ready to fire.
But unlike so many ISIS propaganda videos, where the prisoners would be shot at point blank range, the camouflaged soldiers, who fight for the Levant Front, whip off their masks and holster their weapons.

Barbaric killing is one thing. But in war, it is kill or be killed. This is just drama. I am unsure what to make of it.
Or they all had a laugh about it later as they walked back to the barracks they all share.

Nice gesture but ISIS will only see it as a sign of weakness. “Allah would not let them kill us!!”
A big maybe hovers over the entire thing. Intrigue games are part of Islam. You might be right, you might be wrong.
For what it is worth, the way of the actual Biblical God is to offer mercy. Exceptions are pretty clearly outlined. Peoples utterly given to evil are slaughtered; lesser states of evil frequently see mercy. Christian faith pushes this to a whole new plane.
This ISIS thing is drawing participants from all over the world. Some of them are thrill seekers, some carry a degree and devotion of hate that can only be ginned up from hell. Different approaches might make sense to different people.
In the end... we don’t know without more information — no way to make any kind of absolute pontification about this.
Well, one pontification that I am ready to stand by is that ISIS has no respect for the quality of mercy.
Depends on whom in ISIS you mean. I just pointed out that it is not a unified whole.
