Absolutely and an overwhelming number of Americans back him on that point.

Excuse me, but I see a Constitutional problem with refusing entrance to the United States to American citizens returning home, who are not accused of anything, never charged, never even suspected. I am not a Trump Supporter, Cruz is my man, but I did see Trump on the News this morning specifically saying that of course he didn't mean US Citizens when he talked about barring Muslims from returning to the US.
He emphatically said that of course citizens would be allowed to return.
You need to remember that there are millions of secular Muslims who have never set foot in a Mosque, never read a word of the Koran, and hold no Muslim beliefs.
That term makes no sense. It is as nonsensical as saying "secular Christians." "Secular" more or less means "non religious."
A more narrowly targeted policy like the one proposed by Ted Cruz makes a lot more sense to me.
I agree. Cruz's proposal is a lot more tenable and justifiable. Indonesian Muslims are far less likely to commit religious based violence. No reason they and others can't be accommodated so long as they continue to show tolerance and restraint.

On the US citizen issue, Trump had to issue a clarification after a staffer apparently gave the impression that he had included US citizens in his proposed ban.
On what I meant by ‘secular Muslims’ see my 50 above.
