At a campaign rally aboard the USS Yorktown in Mount Pleasant, S.C., Trump suggested that Microsoft founder Bill Gates, could possibly help censor parts of the online world. âWeâre losing a lot of people because of the Internet,â Trump said. âWe have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand whatâs happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some way.â
âSomebody will say, âOh freedom of speech, freedom of speech,'â he added, dismissing the objection with an arm wave. âThese are foolish people.â

They should deny terrorists the use of social media and other internet capability to the extent possible. Apparently the net is a major means of communication and recruitment for terrorists.
Gee I don’t think that’s what he said. I think Trump said he wanted to look into blocking or shutting down the terrorist jihad sites.
This just the Cruz people posting this nonsense story for the 6th time.
During WW2 local police took away shortwave radios and foreign-country-language newspapers from Italy etc. This was the internet of its day and enemy propaganda was censored and jammed/blocked by the govt coz it was WAR!
“Close that internet up” (for ISIS)
The truth is always overlooked lately.
And you think that any such plan would be limited to that?
Bingo.
The media is helping by saying that the ISIS is anything but the KILLERS they are...they are not helping this country...and that is why Trump ‘trashes’ them...they are liars on everything...
It was reported by two news agencies that trumps rally last week was cut short because of BLM, it was ‘Diamond and Silk’ that he had on stage, but you see, they didn't fact check it and lied again....
Calling for censorship? And camps? Really? THIS is what Conservatism is becoming? I want no part. wait til it backfires on us. Be assured it will.
What’s more dangerous, a backfire or a muslim opening fire?
Which do you think it is.
Let’s ask the 14 dead people in California what they think.
If that “backfire” leads to a shutdown of any controversial websites (perhaps even this one), would you still support it?
Why yes I do. :-)
Please.
Furthermore, let’s see do I want any endless parade of imported muslims who hate us and have clearly shown that they will kill us, and after such attacks our government has repeatedly demonstrated that it will then attack our civil rights, or do I want any controversial websites (perhaps even this one)?
I can live without the controversial websites, but I certainly do not think that will occur.
What I cannot live with is a country full of muslims who will take us over from within and totally change our culture and then kill us.
I want them GONE.
FreeRepublic can’t develop things, anymore? I’d rather have the website than stop the parade.
Well, let’s see, if we smartly stop allowing the sworn arch enemies of our entire civilization walk among us, then we probably wouldn’t have to deprive ourselves of liberties in order to maintain our safety in spite of our staggering and mind blowing stupidity.
Yes, yes, Britain and France and Lindsey Graham and Josh Ernest might call us racists, but so what?
Then we would only have to worry about our retarded politicians making it possible for muslim countries to have nuclear ICBMs so that they can murder us from afar.
America is not receiving any benefit at all from letting muslims walk among us, so let’s stop.
A lot of civil libertarians are not going to be with you on that. Many on here oppose the Patriot Act, TSA, bulk data collection, and other security measures.
Yeah, the Federal Office of Internet Control - that’s going to end well...
They aren’t going to be with me on what?
Get the muslims out of here and we have far, far less need for such security measures.
Then we just have to convince our retarded government that nuns, 95 year old grandmas in wheelchairs and infants aren’t the enemy...
