This is the part that really bugs me.

Why?

It’s quite normal for “customers” to meet with the contractors to discuss their performance, work out any issues, discuss plans forward on projects or support, etc.

They’re called Working Groups or Integrated Product/Project Teams...as a USAF jet engine mechanic / SME, I attended numerous meetings with GE, PW and associated vendors to discuss jet engine related issues.

We had to be convinced by them that their product/resolution was viable, cost effective and relevant before the higher ups would “greenlight” anything and pay them.
