Donald Trump's proposal to ban all Muslim immigration into the US, including that of tourists, was met with an immediate and massive backlash from across the political spectrum.
Republican presidential candidates moved quickly to condemn their party's frontrunner, with Jeb Bush describing Trump as "unhinged" and Lindsey Graham calling on everyone seeking the presidency to denounce the plan.
"Donald Trump today took xenophobia and religious bigotry to a new level," Graham told the Guardian in an interview shortly after Trump unveiled his proposal.
"His comments are hurting the war effort and putting our diplomats and soldiers serving in the Middle East at risk. The way to win this war is to reach to the vast majority of people in Islamic faith who reject Isil and provide them the capability to resist this ideology."
Bush, the former Florida governor, responded on Twitter: Donald Trump is unhinged. His "policy" proposals are not serious.
"Donald Trump is unhinged. His "policy" proposals are not serious."
New Jersey governor Chris Christie said Trump's comments reflected "a ridiculous position and one that wonât even be productive".
"We do not need to resort to that type of activity nor should we," Christie told conservative radio show host Matt Medved. . (snip)

Just because the shrieking claims Trump's is a radical idea doesn't make it so. There is a very great deal of ridiculous posturing and faux outrage from people on the left who don't have another rational means of political discourse, but in fact this form of immigration control is neither radical nor unfair. Islam - I did not say "radical" or "militant", but Islam - has, through a number of highly influential spokesmen, declared intention to do harm to the United States and has opened the ante at 2974 murders in the WTC. Today is Pearl Harbor day, and we pause to recall the cowardly attack that started a war in the Pacific and that claimed 2403 lives. That one ended up in a fiery holocaust among the offending people. This one might close a border. I have not the slightest interest in listening to a bunch of soft-palmed left-wing moral poseurs telling me they're the same thing.
The Guardian already has blood on its collective hands for running interference for the systematic undermining of their own country. I don't even have words for how little I care about their trying it in ours.
How many of us must die before the spineless DO SOMETHING?? That should be Trump’s next line.
GO TRUMP!
LOL...all kinds of clean up will be necessary :)
Sad Cruz is not facing that Islam directs adherents to establish a caliphate and that requires that everyone either convert or die. They want sharia law and that would lead to death to non believers. They can pedal the religion of peace crap and lots of American fools will buy it. Guess liberals think they will be exempt.
Ted can propose legislation all day long but what will he accomplish with it? Who is listening?
If a tree falls in the forest...
Meanwhile Trump makes a strong statement that gets everyone’s attention. As soon as there is another attack, and there will be one, people will be demanding something be done.
That is the difference between Ted and Trump.
’ “ I have introduced legislation in the Senate that would put in place a three year moratorium on refugees coming from countries where ISIS or al Qaeda control a substantial amount of territory. And the reason is that is where the threat is coming from,” Cruz said...’
Oh so he DID say that and the media edited it out!
I was just saying that was what he should have said.
“If you have been here so long, and are not a newby yourself, then you should know that personal attacks and name calling is frowned upon around here.
Not good Freeper etiquette you know.”
So is interjecting yourself between other’s arguments; so is using all caps to make your point. “If you have been here so long, and are not a newby yourself”, then you should know that as well.

Wrong. I have every right to defend another Freeper that is being attacked.
Trump is NOT going to “implode”; his numbers will just continue to keep rising.
Ted may not be scared, that isn’t who he is.
I just wish he wouldn’t act scared.
Bernie threw away any chance of being the Dem nominee when he gave Hillary! as pass on the emails.
Cruz threw away his chance of looking tough on terrorists today.
I’ve never been a Cruz guy for President, but all on our side should be tough on terrorists. At least the top runners.
Basically Ted is being more specific and more practical than Trump is with this approach. But the Trump-ets on FR will never see it that way
How is it that Ted’s not being tough on terrorism because the MSM edits out the most important parts of his comments and everyone here on FR runs with that?
Bernie is a chucklehead commie, Hillary is a knucklehead commie.
At least Bernie never got anyone killed in direct action.
How could yuo compare Cruz to these people?
We have been "interjecting ourselves" since this site began !
Amen
Amen
