You have to understand that UK mainstream media has been rabidly anti-american for years. (Despite broadcasting an endless stream of Hollywood films and TV shows.) The BBC's Andrew Marr is a prime example, he boasts of his own contribution. This has undoubtably slanted peoples' attitudes.
