I find the selective outrage tedious, is all.

Joe Kennedy was a dirtbag, and every Kennedy was, and is, a dirtbag. They all belong in prison(s) and the two should be removed from Arlington.

There is no honor among the political class, and little difference between them and the criminal class. It has become nearly impossible to discern the difference.

That was one of the main points of The Godfather I, when Michael in a tailored overcoat and homburg hat got out of his limousine outside of Kay's kindergarten and asked her to come back to him, whereupon she objected to his father's business. The ensuing dialog shocked me at the time, but over the years it's not hard to have seen it played out.

MICHAEL: I'm working for my father now, Kay. He's been sick -- very sick.

KAY: But you're not like him, Michael. I thought you weren't going to become a man like your father. That's what you told me...

MICHAEL: My father's no different than any other powerful man -- (then, after Kay laughs) -- any man who's responsible for other people. Like a senator or a president.

KAY: You know how naive you sound?

MICHAEL: Why?

KAY: Senators and presidents don't have men killed...

MICHAEL: Oh -- who's being naive, Kay?
