The EU has been a German takeover-by-economics from day 1. IF France leaves that’ll be a major step to the natural European way of life.
I can’t help but remember Margaret Thatcher’s “Give me back my money!” There is a lot of dissension as the European Union strips more and more National rights away from its member states. You’re exactly right about Germany’s conquest of Europe by economic means while they always lost by military means. France won’t be the first to leave IMHO but if England goes, i think France will follow.
Also, Merkel has gone too far. She has blown the lid off the major cause of unrest in several countries. She seems to have caught the Obama disease.
And, with our luck, a major step toward yet another General European War.
Any way we can get out of NATO? It isn’t like Western Europe needs or wants protection from the Sov, er, Russians.
