Matthews isn’t stupid; he is part of the government at this point - a government that stresses “of the people” instead of “by the people” or “for the people”.

Not really. He thinks *you* are stupid. He believes that he can fool *you* or enough of us to get what he wants, and what he wants is unlimited government power.
