Obviously there is hyperbole in the statement above using Mexican labor humane but essentially subsistence rates would be a way to make Mexico pay

Cruz did NOT call for a wall...Dewhurst called it a wall while Cruz envisions a fence...Trump sees a wall as in an Israel type wall...Cruz sees a fence...
So no, Cruz did not come up with a wall idea before Trump...

NO...When Trump gets the wall up there won't be any illegal aliens to apprehend...
It's pretty cut and dried, and the "criminal illegals" he's talking about are the violent convicted criminals released here by the busload during the Obama administration.
But he'll let millions upon millions of non violent criminal illegals stay here...That's not my vision nor is it Trump's vision...
Cruz opposes amnesty, but he doesn't...Amnesty is not giving one American citizenship...Amnesty is a pardon for a crime committed...Letting illegals stay here without penalty IS Amnesty...
But mass deportations make such better TV!
Not only make better tv but the idea puts Trump at close to 40% while Cruz hovers in the single digits...

Trump supporters seem to be spoiling for a confrontation with illegal Mexicans. Mass deportations -- a purely government-force "solution" -- where an effort is made to root out illegals, would result in race wars, bloodshed, and strife. People are so angry that they lust for it. They seem to seek vengeance -- and THAT is something that belongs to only One, and it ain't Trump, you, or me.
I have a feeling that no matter what Cruz says (he offers an authentically conservative, common sense solution of enforcing laws already on the books, getting rid of sanctuary cities, halting government assistance to illegals, and arresting and deporting illegals as they are found) -- that no matter how straightforwardly Cruz states his position, you will always have an accusation at the ready (with no actual source to prove it) that he doesn't mean what he says.
Trump is looking more and more dangerous by the minute. I pray patriots wake up in time.

The millions of illegals instantly out on the street without food will run into law enforcement, who will find out that they are illegals, and then they will be deported. As per Cruz's clearly stated policies.
That in essence is no different than Trump's plan...
