I question if Cruz would be supportive of a border wall if Trump was not making an issue of it. Are a majority of Trump supporters dense and over emotional or are they over-sampled here at Free Republic. Certainly they can't all be so willfully ignorant.

He would not allow catch and release. Oh, he'd release them, all right.
On the other side of Trumps wall. ;-)

Yeah. Hysterical ... ! I mean, seriously -- if five short years ago, even three years ago, it was clear here that a favorite would be
Donald Trump, "The Donald" of obnoxious "You're fired!" fame, you know that brilliant billionaire guy who's written self-improvement books and built big towers and casinos, would be a serious contender for "our" political salvation. He's a patriotic showman who talks tough and has a long history of leaning decidedly left. But man, when he talks ... !
One thing for sure -- if he's elected he will embarrass those who voted for him pretty deeply. They are only voting for what they hope he will be within that colorful bombast.

Trump would have us pay to deport the illegals; Cruz would have the (not additionally criminal) illegals deport themselves at their own expense. Where is there more to be saved, on the wall or on the deportations? Hey, wait a minute ... you're making too much sense there, dammit!!!
Cruz was born in 1970, a youngster who has always liked the Constitution. Trump is an old self-promoting blowhard born in what, '47? Something like that.
I sure hope Cruz wins.

'But if Trump were president he have the Mexicans pay for the wall. So Trumpâs plan would be cheaper." Countries would be clamoring to pay for the wall, because Trump is magic!

"I question if Cruz would be supportive of a border wall if Trump was not making an issue of it." Well, considering that Cruz was calling for a wall in 2011, I'd say yes.
What was Trump doing then? A reality show, or something, right?

Maybe Trump can hire Cruz to build the wall. Trump said he would be the best jobs president.
To: FreeReign
where Cruz says he is for a wall. I doubt he was for a wall, it was always a fence until Trump.

Certainly they can't all be so willfully ignorant. Sure they can as your superior intellect would indicate.

Countries would be clamoring to pay for the wall, because Trump is magic! You really don't have to be magic to figure out that if you are giving a country 50 billion a year you could just deduct the cost of the wall from their annual payoff.
Of course you would have to extract your cranium from your sphincter area to actually see that point.

Yeah, well, I don’t trust Trump and his grand promises as far as I could throw him.
You, on the other hand, are welcome to all the leg tingles you can handle.

“We know how to solve this problem, and we will end sanctuary cities, we will end welfare for people here illegally, we will end catch-and-release and we will deport criminal illegal aliens,” Cruz said. “As president, I will secure the border and we will end illegal immigration.”
You’re getting closer, Ted. Now just remove the qualifier “criminal” from in front of “illegal aliens” and I think we are there.
Thank the Lord that we are finally having an open debate about immigration among primary candidates.
