Interesting that they chose the AK47. I wonder if they had overseas training? Would it not be juicy if they were trained in Syria? Hehehehe

It would be juicier if some of the weapons used were Obama’s “Fast and Furious” guns..

Post on CT said it was actually an AK74. Follows:

...Specifically, the AK was identified by a Treeper as an AK-74, not an AK-47.

Note that the AK-74 has not been imported for the American civilian market, nor is there a civilian firm making a copy.

That is a flaming datum for foreign terrorism....

I don't know how valid any of that is...take it with a grain of salt.

A bunch of other posts are now saying you can purchase an AK74 domestically.

Hard to follow three threads on three different sites. (:

The AK-47 and AK-74 were designed with the peasant farmer in mind. The AK design is the most popular battle rifle in the world for a reason.

It is simple, with enough 'slop' in the action to tolerate sand, mud, and crud without malfunction. It has far fewer parts than a Stoner (AR) type platform. It is a weapon which can be used by almost anyone with a minimum of training and does not require attentive maintenance in the field.
