Remember he used to be on from 2-4, and then again at 5pm? They cut his show(s) to a single hour. This was when Gretchen got her show, and the Five started.
I think in return they built that Star Trek Bridge set for him, and he gets called in for Breaking News. I hate his snarkiness and his ad libs.
