How right you are. I remember overhearing a group of Democrats fussing and fuming over their drinks in the lounge of the Plaza when Reagan was running for reelection. The thing that upset them the most was that no matter what was thrown at Reagan, nothing would stick. He only needed to talk to the American people when he was wrong and all was forgiven.
