News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch, in a discursive speech Monday evening, blasted Secretary of State John Kerry and attacked the left for creating an "identity crisis" that he charged has undermined American strength and fostered terrorism around the world.
And he drew a connection between U.S. foreign policy and domestic culture, arguing that âin recent years, there has been far too much institutionalization of grievance and victimhood."

“an ‘identity crisis’ that he charged has undermined American strength and fostered terrorism around the world.”
That’s true, except it’s not an identity crisis. It’s treason. We need to demand a regime change. We need massive, widespread demonstrations that won’t stop until they’re all in prison.
In a seeming digression, Murdoch also weighed in on the U.S. domestic debate over hydraulic fracturing, which he said "has become a litmus test of principle".
"Those governments that forbid fracking are the flat-earth fraternity, yes, including New York state, he said. They believe that the Earth revolves around them.”
Environmentalists fail to recognize the need for oil and gas to remain the dominant sources of energy, he charged. To deny that reality is to condemn the most vulnerable to the indignity of poverty for the sake of an ideology — that being the ideology of self. The triumph of the me over the needs of the many.”
Liberal "self-indulgence" had hobbled America's sense of moral purpose, Murdoch suggested, asking: "How can we in this room be content with poverty, intellectual or economic, and how can we be content with a world defined by the ideologies of those who seek to please and appease?"
But when is he going to get his buddies who run congress to take a stand up and make a stand? He’s not, and he likely has the ability to effect change.
No, I am many things but I am not an Idiot, I know that for a fact.
I sense they are FEARFUL because next year, a new SHERIFF is coming to town.
Yep.... they are going down. See... Murdoch writes about The ban on Fracking in New York.... and how it hurts the impoverished.. yada yada. What that means is that Murdoch owns some land somewhere in New York that has oil and gas reserves but the state won’t let an oil company do fracking... so he can’t profit from the reserves. That’s my guess...
Welcome to the “disenchanted with Fox News” group.
I agree Murdoch is (maybe) starting to get, that he has alienated a significant portion of what used to be his best viewers.
Although I am not sure. I do know he is opposing Trump, and that is a big, big problem for me.
He is loyal to the people he thinks helped him achieve greatness. But he is completely overlooking that a good portion of his loyal viewers, used to be people like me.
I do not feel loyalty to people who are dismantling American’s manufacturing base.
That is a very real problem, and nobody (NOBODY) is saying a single word about it.
Except Trump.
“For America to have a sense of direction, two conditions are essential: A U.S. leader must understand, be proud of and assert the American personality,” he said, noting that Kissinger had offered a forthright defense of American exceptionalism in his book “World Order.”
That describes Trump and Cruz, definitely Not Jeb, Lindseed, Kasich....may be Christy and may be Rubio who is an all talk Schmuckster.
Rupert Murdoch (Senior) no longer participates in the operation of Fox News, and hasn’t for some time. Murdoch Sr was in charge of Fox News when it used to be good.
There is zero connection between Rupert Murdoch Sr. and Megyn Kelly, other than Murdoch wouldn’t have allowed Megyn Kelly to advance any further than a minor reporter.
Rupert Murdoch Senior’s conservatism lies somewhere between that of Bobby Jindahl and Rick Perry.
Does anyone seriously expect Rupert to follow these words with deeds? Talk is cheap, and I’ve seen where Fox News has gone. That’s why I watch One America News.
This is not breaking news, nor is it all that exciting. And yes, I did read the article.
Murdoch, through his companies, have done untold damage to conservatives. Nowhere in here is there an acknowledgement of that. Nor is there an apology. Instead he throws a few softballs to the neocons. So what?
I appreciate what you’re saying.
I however, believe it is Murdoch who very much needs to climb down completely from what has been a very clear anti-Trump position at Fox News.
Very clearly so.
He is chasing away his own best customers. I assure you I used to be a (big) Fox News fan. Big time. For a number of years.
Now I am gone. I don’t watch it. Ever.
Murdoch, you can win me back, but the way to do that, is to welcome Trump back to Fox News, for real.
Bigtime.
Stop taking sides, in the GOP race.
You are not there to make news, or advance a particular candidate.
That is exactly what you have been doing.
We shall see if deeds follow talk. But the talk is a beginning.
I don’t care what hey say. I watch what they do. Murdoch at best is a NWO guy and supports Jeb.
You are not there to make news, or advance a particular candidate.
That is exactly what you have been doing.
How is posting an excellent speech doing the above?
You got a deal.
Box Business is off my “don’t watch” list already. Let me pay some more attention to them.
Thanks.
Still boycotting Fox News though. For the time being anyway.
