I'm throwing the BS flag on this. The same person must write all of the scam and robbery warnings on garbage e-mails that your well-meaning grandparents send you because they all read the same, including this one.

Reminds me of the tale of that notorious robber El Paso slim. He would toss a seated liberty dime on the ground by the Stagecoach step at rest stations to distract travelers enough to take their coins and trinkets. Things never seem to change.
