Here is a comparison between the Trump and Cruz plans on immigration. For the record, I'm not supporting any candidate, but I am opposed to Trump. I would support any proven conservative first of which the only two left besides Cruz are Jindal and Santorum (who is shaky there).
Donald Trump's plan IS an amnesty in that he wants an expedited system for "the good ones" to come right back in, and he says he wants them, leaving us with exactly the demographic Democrat bonanza we all oppose. Cruz says he will enforce the law. The existing law is not the problem. Enforcing it is.
I think the "expedited" thing is probably a myth created by Trump not explaining himself properly. Since that time, Trump has talked about the unfairness of illegals jumping ahead in line of legal applications, and seems to be discussing streamlining immigration in general, albeit while also raising prevailing wage standards and the like for H1-B applicants, as well as initiating an American workers first policy, requiring employers to hire from the domestic pool first.
Either way, the whole "Trump supports amnesty too!" is a stupid reply from Cruz supporters who have been harrassing and insulting me for months for pointing out that he actually does support amnesty, a fact they've been denying and Cruz has been obfuscating depending on the audience he is speaking to.
I guarantee, Breitbart or Right Scoop will never be reporting these quotes.
Bingo.
Ted Cruz will only deport criminal illegals in his plan, that’s it, the rest remain, as in a grey area. Trump will deport all the illegals, and make them apply to immigrate legally.
Cruz has always favored legal status for illegals:
