But that's what Trump said. He'd seen thousands and thousands demonstrating in Patterson, New Jersey. But to date nobody has been able to find the TV clips he says he saw.
I was in college during 9/11 and I can remember seeing the clips of overseas celebrations, particularly the ones in the Palestinian areas, and how infuriating they were. I dimly remember them talking about the Muslim population in the U.S. but don't recall if it was about demonstrations in favor of 9/11 or if it was just that there was no reactions from them, for or against. Regardless, Trump and his supporters are really grasping at anything that might show that Trump could possibly be kind of correct when he claims the demonstrations ran into the thousands. To date I haven't seen anything to support his claim, and all the reports on actual demonstrations say they were small and sporadic.
I remember hearing about it.
The FBI went to Jersey city because there was a report of towel heads setting up party spots on roof tops before the first plane hit.
That first week they investigated all leads.
Years later, I saw muslims on Broadway, chanting death to America. So they have not stopped celebrating.
