Officers exchanged fire with Dear from a position outside Chase Bank, a distance of a little over 700 feet. One officer was hit and was transported to safety by colleagues.
There are three banks in the area: Chase, TCF Bank, and a bank branch inside the King Soopers. Unfortunately, none of them was Dear's target (except for the officers in front of Chase).
Reportedly, the USSS is now on the case, due to anti-Obama remarks Dear made either during the incident or after he was taken into custody (got to make the most of any crisis, dontcha know).
