Sounds good. But at the time I was trying to adopt my granddaugher (the adoption has since been finalized thank God). As it was a hostile scenario terminating the rights of her parents, I did not dare do anything controversial to give the court/social workers/etc a reason to oppose.....
Although in the county I live in gun ownership is probably a plus, I couldn’t afford to take that chance. At this point I will probably revert to leaving the question blank or stating none of your business.....

I think my wife would like to the same thing with our daughter. She is unmarried and about to have her second child by her second "baby daddy".
I however am reluctant to start parenting again at my age. I am approaching retirement and having children in school when in my seventies is not an appealing mental picture.

My wife and I were in the same situation a few years back. I kept waiting for the gun ownership question but it never came.
The social worker did ask about smoke detectors though, an absolutely relevant question.
