I support a candidate who has firmly and unequivocally asserted that he intends to end subsidies and mandates to support ethanol, wind and other “green” fuels.

Ethanol subsidies are probably here to stay. They are not going away as long as Chuck Grassley and other politicians are in the back pockets of Conagra, ADM and the other large farming corporations. Corporations that are usually described by our leaders as “Family Farmers”.

I think that this Ethanol mandate would have already died if it were not for Iowa being the first political state in every election. Keeping the corn prices high is a major desire for the entire state and Ethanol is a major factor in that equation.

Gas adulterated with corn juice is poison for any older (pre-2007) carbureted engine and it destroys them. I use only pure gas in my small engines and have not had any problem.

Most gas stations around us sell an Ethanol free version of gas for use in a wood splitter, generator or other engine that has a carburetor. Ethanol has tiny particles in it that build up and ruin small engine parts.

The other interesting factoid about the Ethanol lobby is that sorghum, which grows in pretty much the same climate and soil as corn, can produce ethanol much more efficiently. And yet, the ethanol lobby will not permit sorghum based ethanol into the blend because a major purpose is to raise the price of corn. This fact tells you all you need to know.

My car sputters and threatens to stall out just after I add some gas with ethanol to its tank.
(My car votes against ethanol...heh, heh, heh...)

“”Dempsey described the Pelosi letter as “a head-scratcher.” He said, “It really stands out as one of the more bizarre moments for Pelosi.””
I don’t recall what the subject was last week but O’Reilly played a clip of her and ended shaking his head and saying, “She’s an intellectual zombie.”
It was probably about the “infiltrators” they want to bring in from the ME with her ever present arm/hand waving!!! She truly isn’t all there. You know, in spite of all that arm waving, what she says STILL DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE!

Yeah, our generator hasn’t been too happy lately and I think I know why.
