Due to the cost of steam generator removal, repair, and reinstallation (billions) and the anti nuclear environment in California, the unit owner decided to close the plant.

And that had nothing at all to do with the fact that the CEO of the Socal Edison was none other than Gerry Brown's greenie lawyer in chief: John Bryson! /s Bryson had founded the NRDC which shut down Rancho Seco.

He's a tool of natural gas interests.
