If the sin of rape is a criminal offense, that a.) it will not eliminate the crime, b.) it will clog the already clogged courts, and c.) do nothing to improve the moral climate.
SO we should stop prosecuting rape.

Rape is indeed, a criminal offense, it is also a VIOLENT offense because the rapist is imposing their will upon their victim, against their wishes and without their consent.
The sin of adultery is not violent, and the participants have mutually consented to their behavior, as morally objectionable as it may be.
As they say on the game shows "BZZZZZZT!!!"
