Roughly 3,000 demonstrators have shut down a large portion of Michigan Avenue in Chicago-the "Magnificent Mile"-in the middle of Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, to protest the shooting of black teenager Laquon McDonald.
The 17-year-old was killed in October 2014, and was apparently armed with a knife at the time. Video of the shooting released on Tuesday, however, shows that he was walking away from police at the time he was shot 16 times by Officer Jason Van Dyke.
Turnout was strong despite 39-degree weather and rainy conditions. Demonstrators shouted "16 shots!" and "No justice, no shopping!"
The march started at Michigan and Wacker Drive and began walking north. They include demonstrators from the Nation of Islam, which is marching under the banner of "Justice of Else"; RevCom, the Revolutionary Communist Party, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH coalition.

The reason they’re not marching in front of the mayor’s office or the police department is they want white liberal elites to solve their problems for them.
Maybe Hillary can come talk to them and promise them their piece of the pie... and this time she REALLY mean it.

The reason blacks are protesting white liberal elites shopping is because they want white liberal elites to solve their problem for them.
Just shop online and tell them to get stuffed . I think their Mamma’s do all their shopping anyway
I used to shoot with a Highway Patrol officer, many years ago. We went to the range a time or two. He told me he once had a guy about 50 feet away with a knife. Both this trooper and his supervisor had their weapons drawn and on the guy. The guy told me, before he knew what happened, the guy got to him and stuck him with the knife. I don’t know what happened to the knife-guy. He may have told me but I don’t recall.
Not only, but they are also unable to solve their own problems. Unable and so often unwilling to.

I keep seeing this claim that the perp was shot 16 times.
I saw a police report saying 16 shots were fired. How many of those shots hit the perp has not been released as far as I know.
I’m fine with 16 shots other than the danger to bystanders. The question is whether any shots were proper, not how many were fired.
Anyway, the officer has been charged with 1st degree murder. I don’t know what else can be done other than groveling at this point.
Yup. I just got back from the NW suburbs. No one in their right mind is driving to the Mag Mile to shop., BLM or not. That is for tourists and rich liberals on the Gold Coast.
Thank God I start working from home almost exclusively after January 1st.
FIRE HOSE used to do the trick
Before Macy's took over and renamed Marshall Fields, wife and I went there every year for breakfast by the Christmas Tree. After our kids were born we'd take them and the grandparents there every year. Breakfast, annual coffee mugs and annual picture by the tree. Once Macy's took it over, we quit. I hate Macy's and State Street is just a run down craphole of a street with nothing left on it.
That's crystal clear in the video. No way McDonald isn't convicted of murder, unless it's an all white jury "sending a message" via jury nullification just like the all black jury did in the OJ Simpson case.
Gee, wouldn't that be something huh?
By the way, why isn't anyone asking all the other police officers that were present and visible in the now FIVE video's that have surfaced if any of them felt like their lives were in danger? They were certainly on the scene much longer than Officer Van Dyke was and none of them opened fire.

But the stockholders don’t seem to care. The price of Nordstrom’s stock went down a mere 18 cents today even with the Chicago protests going viral all over the media.
But Nordstrom’s will survive. It’s Chicago that people should be worried about. What investor in his or her right mind will continue to buy Chicago’s municipal bonds now? In fact, what investor in his or her right mind won’t sell
whatever Chicago bonds they might already have in their possession?
Chicago is already on the edge of bankruptcy. If Mayor Emanuel doesn’t care about his city’s retail owners and the right of his citizens to buy Christmas presents freely, shouldn’t he at least care about the teachers and other municipal workers whom he’ll have to lay off when the city inevitably goes bust?
