When it comes to handguns, in the end it is all about placement - Practice, Practice, Practice!
I sure wish that the ccw classes covered....penetration stats better....I think travel capacities for the various rounds should be a major portion of the classes....
most of the ball ammo will travel through the walls...and into other houses......at least hollow point should be loaded for in house defense....imo
I think it can be argued that there’s ultimately more to it than shot placement though good shot placement is the key factor in dropping the bad guy. Sometimes you need to be able to shoot through walls or other barriers or even the full length of a beefy outstretched arm for example. Penetration, therefore, is a very important factor in assessing handgun “stopping power”. Indeed, penetration is the primary manner in which a handgun bullet destroys tissues. my $.02.

Exactly! Too many treat ammo like it’s some kind of talisman to compensate for not hitting your target. It’s better to use a puny caliber and place all the shots where they should be than to carry around a large hand cannon that you can’t shoot for sh*t.
I volunteer as a line safety officer at a local county run range. The bottom of the target frame is where most guys are hitting. If they do hit the target it looks like they were using a shotgun.
