Trump demands NY Times apologize for accusation

Donald Trump, leading Republican candidate for president, took his spat with the New York Times to the next level, doubling down on his denial of mocking a handicapped reporter and then demanding the newspaper apologize for accusing him of doing so.

In tweets sent out Thanksgiving Day, Trump said once again he didn't poke fun of Serge Kovaleski, a New York Times journalist who suffers from arthrogryposis, a congenital condition that restricts the movements of his arms.

His campaign first opened with this clarification: "Donald J. Trump today demanded an apology fro the failing New York Times which accused him (during a major speech before 10,000 people in Myrtle Beach, SC) of mocking a reporter's physical disability when in fact, Mr. Trump does not know anything about the reporter or anything about what the reporter looks like. He was merely mocking the fact that the reporter was trying to pull away from a story that he wrote 14 years ago."

The NYT today exists merely because of sale of its real estate assets, or income from same. The “news” paper itself is a loser in every sense of the word.

1000% better than listening to them drool over Obama and having their pee tinkle down their leg!!!

This is a long war. If you want peace, vote for Hillary. But that peace comes with a very big price tag.

Excellent comment, miss m.

I'll take eight years of Trump beating the press like a rented mule.

LOL!

From your keyboard to God's ears.

Thank you. We’ve all got to get on the same page or we are sunk. Fighting over “good taste” is not how the Left won.

True. You do not worry about optics in a fight.

You fight to win.

Period.

Oh, for God’s sake, can’t you interpret in another way? The poor guy - sitting around his computer in his pajamas hoping against hope to get another freelance gig - is suddenly in the news and Trump is talking about his article. He jumps up, hysterically - undoubtedly his arms flailing in distress - and says “Oh, no! Poor me! How did I get into this mess. I hate Trump!” And that’s why he is a poor guy, a schlub, and a putz.

I’ve watched it enumerable times, ok? I don’t see it. You see it because you want to see it. And it’s not nice to call this pure reporter “a spatz.”

Love how conservatives go wobbly after what? 3 months of fighting off the media. This is a long war. If you want peace, vote for Hillary. But that peace comes with a very big price tag.

A statement worth repeating. It seems that conservatives have been so indoctrinated with political correctness that they indeed go wobbly when the going gets tough.

If Trump becomes the nominee, the campaign is going to get much nastier than a purported "bad taste" imitation of a reporter with a disability. If conservatives can't stomach this, they might as well just surrender now and vote for Clinton. Because if they end up settling for a "nice" politically correct candidate like Jebbie Bush or Marco Rubio, Clinton is who they are going to get. Because you can bet that her campaign is going to show no mercy whatsoever on our candidate, no matter how nice and polite they are. The Democrats play for keeps. They apologize for nothing and successfully deflect or marginalize any scandal or attack we throw at them. If we don't adopt that same mindset, we are doomed.

The GOPe reminds me of the Neville Chamberlain Administration in Great Britain during the 1930s. Always looking for a way to appease and find peace with the tyrant. Never wanting to offend the tyrant. But the tyrant always came back for more, until such time Great Britain had to fight for their very survival.

Great post!

And if Jeb or Rubio gets the nomination and refuses to fight off Hillary or the media? These same people will be back screaming “Why doesn’t our candidate fight dirty like the Democrats???” Oh, the moaning - I can practically hear it now.

Concern troll concern trolling.

News Flash: about fifty million people find it refreshing.

Take a pill and go to your safe space.

Yes, he may have, but; the media talks a big game about disabled folks. Besides Krauthiemer whose legs we do not see how many disabled types are on TV as media anchors? I have not seen one since TV was invented.`

Not sure, but I think it’s more difficult to win slander suits when you are a public figure.

End result of Trump lawsuit against liberal media:

I'd love to. You seem to be willing to ignore the fact he's got a history of making personal attacks against people due to the way they are/look. See Fiorina and O'Donnell as examples.

I have defended him on other subjects and given the qualifier I am not a supporter of his. If another candidate or a Dem had done this, I do not believe you would give them the benefit of the doubt.

At least Trump will fight the libbtard media back. Bush never did. He was like a human pinata.

Remember how frustrated we were for 8 long years because they would stand there like wimps and not fight back? And that 8 years doesn't even include all the "It.s Bush.s fault" garbage that we've been hearing since 2008. Do the math and we have at least 15 long years of pent-up frustration and anger from watching the pantywaist RINOs stick their heads in the ground when they're lied about.

The cumulative effect of watching the press attack Trump will be very different, though. Trump fights back! It.s so refreshing.

Go ahead, Rove. You just keep on thinking that garbage about how Trump and Cruz can be defeated. Hahahahaha!!! Look at what you created -- the mother of all backlashes! I would give $100 if i knew your FR screen name and could ping you to this.
