Memorializing 9/11 would only be offensive to Muslims if Muslims supported what happened; nobody worries about offending Presbyterians or Buddhists by calling to mind those victimized by the terrorists that day.
By using that rationale, those university pinheads are only reinforcing the proposition that the mindset of Islam is tied to that atrocity (which of course it is).

You’d think the “moderate muslims” would be pushing for this too, even if with crocodile tears but still to show at least outwardly that this is not what they have in mind when they say the word jihad.
