Swastikas just don't give a good vibe regardless of their context. I have a copy of William Shirer's book about the Third Reich and the swastika on the cover gives pause to whoever sees the book on the shelf.

I had the same book and completely understand. Removing the dust cover didn't help because it was on the spine too. Turning it around only brought more attention to it. My wife eventually insisted on it being removed from the library as she was afraid people would think we were Nazis.

It's a shame because a lot of lessons were learned during WW2 that we are repeating today (such as appeasing the Muslims who are proving to be even worse than Nazis).

Appeasement always leads to war. Always.

People you invite into your home wouldn't know better than to assume that you were Nazis?!

Regards,

Good Grief. When I was young, my uncle and aunt had one of Shirer's books in their library. Yes, there was a swastika visible on the spine, but I suspect that the title (The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich) was ample explanation. The book now rests on my shelf, where it has never raised an eyebrow.

I have cast scale models of a FW-190/A5 and a Me-109E beautifully hand-painted complete with swastikas on the vertical fins. That’s how they looked in WWII.

I also have a signed print of a Me-109F painted in its original color scheme complete with the swastika on its vertical fin. That’s how it looked in 1943. The man who flew the 109 in WWII, Lt. Franz Stigler of Luftwaffe JG-27, signed my print. He shot down 28 Allied aircraft in WWII and was himself shot down 11 times.

Not only was Stigler not a Nazi, he was a kind and decent man. He was merely a soldier answering the call of his country and who performed his duty as he was sworn to do. This “call of duty” is a quality that’s lost on modern, shit-for-brains Leftist-Liberals.

But if owning books, models, memorabilia, etc., that contain swastikas or Confederate flags on them makes one a “Nazi” or a “racist” then does displaying the Islamic Crescent make one a “terrorist” as well?

Slavery used to be legal in the United States. Does flying Old Glory make one a supporter of slavery too? Why is it that flying the Soviet, Red Chinese, or Imperial Japanese flags, murderers of billions all, not engender the same negative reaction?

This being frightened of symbols, flags, etc. is ignorant, childish, and completely goes against the spirit of a Free Society. It’s cowardly bulls*** and needs to stop.

When I was younger, a friend's father noticed my copy of Fatherland by Richard Harris and reacted in in a similar fashion to the cover until I explained it was an alternate history novel.
