Don’t know who controls the flow of Russian oil, but General Winter controls the European politicians when it comes to flow of Russian gas to Europe.

The plane was shot down by Syrian rebels because it was in Turkey’s airspace? That doesn’t make any sense. It tells me that a Turk missile brought down the plan. Otherwise the Syrian rebels are operating inside Turkey. Putin should take out Turkey’s anti AC batteries anywhere near the border.

Nobody is denying it was a SAM. What Putin is denying is where.

America may have some balls yet. It is our equipment.

What I don’t agree with is killing pilots in a parachute.

I do not believe it.

I may not be up to date. But the last I heard the plane was hit by a surface to air missile. Do I have the wrong info?

My skill stopped at an SA-6. Tremendous

I could only imagine a satellite guided SA-9 or so.

***But I thought Odunga said “Turkey has a right to defend their airspace”.. AFTER THE AIRCRAFT HAS LEFT THAT AIRSPACE???***

But Odungo is the one who acted stupidly because he was saying that it was ok for Turkey to shoot a pilot after ejecting from their aircraft which is a violation of the Geneva Convention.

“Turkey kinda sorta violated almost all of NATO’s ROE
Or maybe all of it”

No, and you don’t have the least idea what the ROE is for the Turkish air force. You’re just helping your Russian and Putin apologists spread disinformation.

Turkey may have just created a Russian-backed Kurdistan by shooting down the Russian jet. If the Kurds are willing to fight, the Russians might yet give them the nation they’ve been pushing for. A couple of billion dollars a year and state-of-the-art SAM’s in PKK hands would give the Turks endless headaches.

Turkey's main interest in Syria, other than Assad's ouster, is to make sure that the Kurds don't get too uppity, or else their fellows on the Turkish side of the border will start getting ideas. Since the Kurds are pretty much the only ones in the region other than Assad who are putting up a fight against ISIS, at the very least Turkey is allied with ISIS by proxy.

Turkey was the aggressor. NATO is not obligated to support or defend this.

I completely agree. The only thing worse than fighting Muslims is having them as allies.

Shooting pilots helpless as they parachute to the ground is a serious violation the Russians should pursue.
