It is only foolish to the gullible and inform. Why is Putin in the Middle East and why did he annex Crimea? Is there a nexus there? Or is Putin the magician who disappears journalists and politicians who don’t kiss his ass just doing this out if the goodness of his KGB card carrying commie ass?

Go learn something of the history of Crimea and its ethnic makeup and get back to me. As for the ME, go look at a map. You might see some borders there...and Russia, like almost everyone else, has its own Muslim problems (as does China increasingly).
Putin isn’t a “commie”. The Russians learn a lesson th every hard way. Those “commie” folks that concern you live mainly in EU welfare states and are abundant on our college campuses.
Russia annexed Crimea after a referendum supported by about 96% of the population. The population revolted after the US-fostered oligarch/neo-Nazi coup that deposed a legitimate government in Kiev that Crimeans had voted for 80% plus.
There is no evidence to support Western/exiled oligarch propaganda about murdered journalists, etc. Putin has always enjoyed high popularity ratings. Whatever you think of him, he is a smart man who knows any conceivable benefit that might accrue to him by such actions would be more than offset by the avalanche of propaganda that it would afford his opponents.
