Columbus, Ohio (CNN)Donald Trump said Monday that he witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers on 9/11 from the view in his apartment.
"Many people jumped and I witnessed it, I watched that. I have a view -- a view in my apartment that was specifically aimed at the World Trade Center," Trump said Monday during a rally in Columbus, Ohio.
"And I watched those people jump and I watched the second plane hit ... I saw the second plane hit the building and I said, 'Wow that's unbelievable,'" Trump continued.
At least 200 people are believed to have jumped from the Twin Towers after planes struck the towers in an attack that claimed more than 2,600 lives.
The Republican presidential contender lives in Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, more than four miles away from where the World Trade Center towers once stood. Trump has lived in the 5th Avenue tower since before the attacks, according to media reports pre-dating 9/11.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment asking how Trump witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers from more than four miles away.
Trump on Monday also dug into his claim that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the terrorist attacks on 9/11, a claim that has been widely debunked by multiple fact-checkers.

Who cares? It makes no difference. He was describing his experience of 9/11 in political speech. The idiot media thinks they can score points by taking one thing he said out of a looong speech and make it sounds like he's a liar. He's from New York. His apartment is downtown. The event had a huge impact on everyone but especially those that were in the city. That's the point he was making. The media is just trying to bring him down. After all it's worked in the past why not now? But Trump has the answer to their games. Don't give in. Don't even accept their stupid premise that he's lying. Call them what they are. Dishonest, lying, politically based attacks.

FReepers are famous for forming a circular firing squad if their “perfect” candidate isn’t the front runner and they do all they can to take out the competition (thereby doing the dirty work for the filthy dems), and then if their “perfect” candidate doesn’t get the nomination and run in the general election, in a snit they take their ball (vote) home and the slimy dems win again. . .all the while they sit at home all smug and righteous.
The dems don’t do this because they are in it for the long game, get one of their own is better than one of ours. . .move the political football along little by little. . .eventually they score.

The line of sight from Trump’s apartment to the WTC would be slightly to the east of the Empire State Building (pretty much right in the middle of 5th Ave at 38th St...but up 66 stories).
A co-worker’s husband was in the WTC complex on 9/11. He got out. He said the ground was splattered with blood and body parts from the people who jumped.

I have met a lady who was outside the towers as the people were landing. She still had bone fragments in her legs.

Oh I agree. But it's worth noting that these silly 9/11 attacks on Trump are similar to the silly attacks on Carson, the Yale and the West Point attack particularly.
That is facing north, but he could have easily moved it to a southern exposure. I’m assuming its a no-brainer that he had at least one complete floor at the top of the building.
