Not quite, they’ll put Cruz up. They know Cruz doesn’t really stand much of a chance in the general, and in the meantime Trump and Cruz may take each other out.

Yes, it’s been quite interesting to see all these Republicans come out recently endorsing Cruz - someone the GOPe wanted to take out before Trump became a worse problem for them.

I assume they want Cruz to take out Trump and then they’ll do what they have to do to take out Cruz.

I don’t entirely trust Cruz and don’t think he’d be the leader Trump would be. Trump has that force of personality that overwhelms his opposition which of course is why he is so successful.
