President Vladimir Putin has accused Turkey of funding ISIS, and using its military to protect the terrorist organisation, after a Russian fighter jet was shot down near the Syrian border on Tuesday morning. The two-pilot Sukhoi Su-24 jet was shot down by F-16 fighter planes just after 9am this morning, after it violated Turkish airspace and ignored nearly a dozen warnings by the military, Ankara officials said.

Talk is cheap. Fire some cruise missiles at a military base in Turkey but intentionally missing the target is what I would do if I were Putin.

You are just an angry Putinista talking nonsense.

The fact that neither Obama nor any other recent President has defended our southern border from illegal hordes has absolutely nothing to do with Russian warplanes violating Turkey’s airspace.

Turkey warned Russia over and over. For many weeks now Russia was warned, and they finally got what they deserved for ignoring said warnings.

Russia is not just "killing terrorist and jihadist" in Syria. They are doing everything they can to keep Assad in power. THAT is their objective.

Great idea. They have some common sense.

I wonder what state Iraq and Syria would be in today if we'd left Saddam Hussein in power?

Oh and Russia can and will do nothing. They can complain, they can file protests, but they don't have the military strength to do a thing against Turkey. And the silly ideas floating around that Russia has the power to enforce a no fly zone over Syria is nonsense. The US could do that, but not Russia.

The "impotent Russia" wet dream of the demented cold warriors who still think it's 1962.

Russia doesn't have the "military strength"? Do you mean conventional military strength? Russia could vaporize Turkey with the push of a button.

As for conventional military strength, its Black Sea Fleet is right on Turkey's doorstep and it could blockade Turkish ports without any problem whatsoever. And Turkey could do what?

The Russians are also killing Ukranians and seized part of the country, i.e., Crimea. Russia shot down a civilian airliner over Ukraine.

I am always amazed how may Freepers rise to the defense of a KGB thug who wants to restore Russian imperialism. Putin is also ruthless eliminating and silencing domestic opposition. He is robbing the country's treasury amassing a large personal fortune.

Yes, we worked with Stalin to defeat the Nazis, but Stalin was just the lesser of two evils at the time. Putin is no friend of the West. He is a dictator who has controlled Russia for almost 15 years.

Our sovereign borders are violated by millions from God knows where during war time, leaving hundreds of thousands of American victims.

How come you and Obama not all concerned with that?

Based on what they have already done, it not silly at all.

Since they went into Syria, the Germans and the US pulled ground to air missiles out of Turkey, and our lone aircraft carrier was pulled out of the ME.

Seems to me the Russians do control the skies over Syria but don't enforce it as they encourage the west to engage terrorist on the ground.

We should be on the side of Russia in this fight, not Turkey.

That’s what I thought.

Even you don’t know what you are talking about.

If you don’t know what you are talking about, how do expect me know what you are talking about?

Try again...

Since the Russians were killing ISIS and everyone knows it, there ya go. By the way slick, Obama completely 100% agrees with you.

There are no ISIS targets where the Russia plan went down. Bombing fuel tankers from 30,000 feet is a fairy tale. Believe it if you wish.

By the way slick, the kenyan is going to be gone in a year. The KGB thug whose boots you are licking will still be around using mass murder as a tool of national policy. Carry his water at your own risk.

Why is Obama still in office and not impeached? The muslim president is a traitor. Obomination arms ISIS and sends in U.S. aircraft to protect Turkey who is supplying ISIS and buying and shipping the ISIS oil in turn supplying ISIS with arms and Toyota trucks. Turkey bombs the Kurds who are the only folks standing their ground and killing ISIS. Why on earth are we letting Obama get away with this?

How much does it cost to wage a Nuke War? This could get bad—fast. Will Europe Go to war for Turkey? For Syria? Will the USA go to war and risk the likes of Millions over ISIS? A Treaty is one thing—but will Poland fight Russia over this? how many Nukes would turn the USA into a 3rd World pest hole? The Good news—The illegals will flee first rather than glow and be drafted. Black Lives Matter will fade as the fake crisis it is when the Urban Blacks are killed in the Millions by Russian Nukes. We will not need to worry about Bruce Jenner when there is no internet or electricity any more. It will not be Global Warming—but Nuclear Winter to worry about. The draft will end unimployment problems. No need to worry about elections when Obama has the congress make him President-for-life.

“How much does it cost to wage a Nuke War?”

Having experience in nuclear warfare I can say I know of no one outside of the muslims who are crazy enough to do it. They would rather wage all out conventional warfare first. So, nukes are not a worry to me at all.

Exactamundo.

And additionally Turkey is just protecting the ethnic Turks in Syria from Russian bombing. Putin shouldn’t have a problem with that based on his invasion of Ukraine to protect ethnic Russians.

With 1/3 of Alawite Men of fighting age already dead, The Russians and the Iranians will continue have to pour in troops to defend the embattled Assad regime.

If the United States wanted to we could clear Russian aircraft out of Syria in a weekend.

I really think a lot of you Putinista's have no actual clue about the relative strength of the Russian armed forces compared to their neighbors, regional powers or the United States.

Russia is not that strong. Only about a quarter of their military can be regarded as first world. They can not project power nearly in the same way we do. They are mostly using dumb bombs and old technology in Syria. Time and time again when their military hardware comes up against what we produce, their stuff loses in embarrassing fashion (obviously much of that is lack of training time, etc).

Putin is doing a pretty good job with a pair of 3's making it look like Russia is strong and mighty again, but most of it is an illusion. If we didn't have an incompetent idiot President in Obama, I don't think Putin would have even gotten away with swiping the Crimea let alone sustaining a civil war in Eastern Ukraine and getting his toes in the water in the Middle East.

The Turks don’t play. No one —no one— wants to get in a fight with those crazy SOBs.

Not even Putin.
