Turkish warplanes have reportedly shot down a Russian military aircraft on the border with Syria.
Russia's Interfax news agency cited the Russian defence ministry as saying that a Su-24 had crashed in northern Syria, and that its two pilots had ejected.

turkey was a necessary component of NATO once upon a time but that time ended in 1989-90.

I thought they shot down one airplane.
It looks as though the pilot kept the plane in the air to get back to Syria.
The same thing they did about Paris.
NATO is a fiction. It has not existed in any real sense for 25 years.
Putin may not want to make Turkiye an active enemy. Russia and Turkiye have come to blows more than once in past centuries and Russia some times came off second best and never had a clear win.
