It would be nice if more information was available. At the very least what they mean by 'war plane' as that could be anything from a drone through helicopters to fighter jets to even a bomber (all four are in the air in the region). The Reuters article mentions 'jet,' but the Turkish source states 'war plane.'
All the same, very interesting.

The video-photo posted online shows a parachute opening when the plane was shot down, so it appears to be a piloted aircraft.
