Republicans want a candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton. A new Fox News poll finds Marco Rubio performs best against the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Rubio has an eight-point edge: 50 percent to Clinton's 42 percent.
Then again, Clinton -- who commands 55 percent support among Democratic primary voters, easily outpacing Bernie Sanders (32 percent) and Martin O'Malley (3 percent) -- trails all top-tier Republicans in hypothetical 2016 face-offs.
Jeb Bush is ahead of Clinton by six points (45-39 percent). She trails both Ben Carson (47-42 percent) and Donald Trump (46-41 percent) by five. Ted Cruz bests her by four (45-41 percent), while Chris Christie has a three-point edge (46-43 percent).
Carly Fiorina fares the worst against Clinton: they tie at 42 percent. Women go for Clinton over Fiorina by four points, while men back Fiorina by six points.
Trump also tops Sanders by five points (46-41 percent).
Rubio not only commands the widest margin against Clinton, he's the only one who hits the 50 percent mark. Rubio's margin comes entirely from men, who go for him over Clinton by 17 points. The two are tied among women voters.
This is the first time Rubio has topped Clinton, although itâs always been close -- she was up by just one point in June (45 Clinton vs. 44 Rubio).

RE: Do those numbers include possible vote theft, ballot forgeries and all the other political tricks that will be used to defeat Trump/Cruz?
None of the polls do. to really be confident of overcoming the fraud possibility, a GOP candidate’s lead has to be OUTSIDE the margin of error.
RE: What are Marco Rubioâs greatest accomplishments?
I think we must ask the same question of every candidate out there.
That's where they're getting their ideas! :)
I know these people still exist. Typically they are over 50, live in gated (still mostly white) communities, think it’s cute that their kids come home from college on the weekend in little gray suits and peculiar red books and they say things like, “I still believe in the American people”
Anything FOX puts out I ignore.
“What are Marco Rubioâs greatest accomplishments?”
Using his Republican Party American Express card for personal purchases.
Buying a new boat.
Of all the candidates, I think Trump would be the most willing to go negative on Hillary. Contrast with John McCain and Mittens, who refused to go negative on Obama (although McCain was famously savage in going after the more-conservative candidate who tried primarying him for his Senate seat).
The latest GOPe gambit...
The 8 Republicans in my family would not cross the room to vote for Rubio.
Well by all means lets nominate Marco. :-)
RE: The 8 Republicans in my family would not cross the room to vote for Rubio.
Looks like we might have a repeat of 2012 when enough people do this.
This kind of political reporting is so pathetic. Overlooking for now Fox News’s preferred candidate coming out on top, we are talking about 1 or 2 point differences, which is just a sliver of the margin of error for the poll—if all polling practices were perfect.
Pul-ease.
I don’t think so. Just because Obama looked youthful, normal and healthy next to McCain, doesn’t mean Rubio won’t look like the youngster not nearly ready for the big chair.
And, of course, his policies are crap.
I think even Dindu Nuffin beats Hillary.
I thought that Rubio would be the eventual nominee for a long time now. I like him and hope he becomes the next president.
“Fox news has an agenda. Destroy Trump and promote Rubio. I donât believe anything from them any more.”
You are absolutely correct.
Don’t bet on it, I will not vote for any of the Cheap Labor Express candidates
I’ll never vote for amnesty
Happy Thanksgiving week, conservatives: Screen grab Poll: At least 7 GOP candidates beat or tie @HillaryClinton if race held today. @SundayFutures pic.twitter.com/to0piVh2lm Fox News (@FoxNews) November 22, 2015 Rubio’s up eight, Jeb’s up six, Trump and Carson are up five, Cruz is up four, and Christie’s up three. Fiorina is tied with Hillary, at 42 percent apiece. The sample is R+1 — perhaps a bit generous — but Hillary’s fundamentals remain terrible, including a dead-last (38/58) ‘honest and trustworthy’ score among the field. And it’s entirely plausible that more Americans are identifying as Republicans in the wake of the Paris attacks, especially...
