In all fairness, this is a huge sticking point with illegal immigration, and why many businesses, often very large businesses, are all in favor of illegal immigration.
This muddies the water, horribly, because they both support illegal immigration (open borders) and just as strongly oppose giving citizenship to illegals, to keep them as cheap labor. If they could, they would call for the return of slavery, “as it is good for business”.
These people, who support the Republican establishment against conservatives, are “pigs”. Amoral. They have even surrendered their loyalty to the US in support of internationalist corporatocracy.
This is why the Republicans first split from the Whig business party. Because the Whigs just could not oppose slavery, that the Republicans utterly despised and wanted to end.
But when the Republicans left to found their new party, the Whig party quickly shriveled, much like Jeb Bush’s campaign, because apart from a small number of wealthy donors, nobody else supported them.
And despising the anti-business Democrats, the former Whigs had no place to go but to join the Republicans, and immediately try to take over their leadership.
They did so by the time of Calvin Coolidge (”The business of America is business”). And by the time of his successor, Herbert Hoover, when the stock market crash happened, his only solution was a “top down” solution, supporting business, while giving far less attention to the suffering of the average American.
While he did try to help somewhat, the Democrats in congress blocked any substantial relief, setting the stage for the gigantic Democrat win that brought FDR to power, and set the stage for his “Socialist-National Socialist” takeover of America.
So here we find ourselves today, battling a coalition of radical Democrat-Socialists and loathsome Republican “neo-Whigs”, who whether they are called liberals, internationalists, RINOs, the GOP-e, Chamber of Commerce Republicans, or Country Club Republicans, are causing devastating harm to America, as much as if they would agree with the Democrats to restore slavery.
Our sympathies should lie with the illegal aliens themselves, because just like the slaves before them, while it is a tragedy that they have come here, it is monstrous that we permit even more to come, and their abuse by vile people while they are here.
I know a man who came to the USA from Mexico legally thirty years ago.
