They won't actually be Ohio class Trident boats.
They'll be some upgraded version of the existing Vanguard class of SSBN.
Carrying their existing Trident D5 missiles.
Still, formidable.
Good on the Conservatives for the 2% NATO pledge. I hope it happens.

Which submarine force in the world do you think is the best? We used to be but now I don’t know.

The existing Vanguard class carries 16.
I suspect they'll replicate that as they don't want to buy more missiles.
Still, 16 D5's is a fearsome load.

IMHO, Antarctic would be a better location. Only the penguins would object!

"Well the US Navy won't be ordering more Ohios either. "
Current planning calls for an entirely new platform to come into service in 2030.
Still, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the Ohio class boats besides they are getting a bit long in the tooth.
It's still the best and most capable SSBN in the world, bar none.

No other country in the world comes close to the USN submarine force.
It's like comparing Oranges and Swahili.
Other countries have OK boats for the littorals, but when they must go to sea, they die.
And, don't believe all the hoopla on Chinese boats, they can be tracked from over 100 miles away...easily. There are surface ships that are not as loud.

Thanks. That’s reassuring.
I remember in “Hunt for Red October” there was mention of us being able to listen in on conversations from a nearby sub. It sounds plausible.
Sorry for the other question.

I hope it doesn’t. Moslem “British” crews will be in those things. Better to wrap up UK nukes now before the inevitable happens and RN Captain Rahman Mohammed heads to sea with a load of Trident missiles.

Yeah, people don’t realize the Russian military is 40 percent moslum
Moscow is 20 percent
Paris is 40 percent
I wonder who will be the first moslum captain of a nuke sub.

Novels is novels. If I am not mistaken, Toshiba sold the NC machine tech to the Russians after that book came out.
Hopefully the ChiComs are still that crude and poorly trained.

“Paris is 40 percent”
More like 10-15%

According to the interior ministry, two thirds of Muslims in France live in major urban areas:
38 percent in the Ile-de-France (Paris and its region), 13 percent in the Provence-C"te d'Azur (Marseilles and Nice, as well as the Riviera), 10 percent in Rh"ne-Alpes (Lyons and Grenoble), and 5 percent in Nord-Pas-de-Calais (around Lille)...The Muslim presence is much greater in key areas than the overall figures would suggest. Many cities or neighborhoods in France have turned into all-Muslim territories...
The birthrate of Muslims being three to four times higher than that of non-Muslims, the proportion of children, teenagers, and young adults in urban France is not 5-11 percent but a very impressive 33 percent or so.
