Stop the Avis bashing. Each and every petty complaint thus far on this thread could apply to every car rental franchise on the planet. This has to do with an idiot employee or two and quite possibly a jerk for a customer. Not Avis.
Except that Avis is backing up their bitch. So that makes the company the party to blame.

My reason(s) to HATE Avis has far more to do with my own experiences (plural) with them than this one story about a from-out-of-the-country customer. In fact, Avis MIGHT actually be in the right on this one.
Avis IS the armpit of the industry...
